Size Issues

Jasper was out back helping Victoria with goat chores....well, he obviously wasn't helping. He disappeared into the trees and managed to drag out this tree limb. He wanted to bring it down to the house but it wouldn't fit through the gate so they had to leave it out back.

Cache County Fair 2018

We had a blast at the Cache County Fair in August. Of course three of the four days worth of picture were damaged by T-Rex...AKA Jasper. At the fair he was still considered a puppy at 13 months so his category had 4in jump heights. It was funny because he would jump early and higher than needed. He loves the tunnels but guess what? He would not do a single tunnel at the fair. He was a little freaked out over all the people and the activities....hence his destructiveness the week after.
I love our shirts this year. With the canal running next to our spot and most of the kids floating in the canal with their clothes on, the green shirts held up so much better.
The backs are my favorite....it says.....4H Dogs Rule and cats drool! So Cute!

Rachael is so cute! She is so gifted with understanding dogs. She is definately a Dog Expert!
We are so blessed to have both Jill and Rachael.
When fair time comes around, we stake a spot with our canopy and
chairs and then leave them for four days! I am one who gets a vendor pass because we transport agility equipment. We had all the ribbons and trophies in the van.
 Daphne and Kaleb hanging out.
By the last day of the fair, the kids have kicked off their shoes and running bare foot, sloshing through the canal, playing games like human agility with the dog equipment. It is fun. The family's bring potluck dinner. We had 26 kids this year.  That is 52 dog/kid bodies.
Jon playing frisbee with his adorable pups. We are so blessed to have so many dog expert leaders. We couldn't find Kaleb one of the days and found him in the kennel with these two dogs keeping them company. Their names are Koda and Clove.
Christy and I taking a break!
This was Sammy's last fair. He is officially retired now that Kaleb has turned 18 and aged out of the 4H program. Kaleb is now a leader. Sammy, at age 11, was really slowing down. There is a definite difference in a dog over the age of 10. I remember when Henry turned 10 he slowed down considerably. Now Sam doesn't want to sit and his points have dropped 10-15 this year.
With training Henry for 4 years, they worked really well together in the course. This has been a challenge to train Jasper since he was 4 months old. He isn't so sure about the teeter where as Henry loved it. It has been a good learning experience. Really, Jasper just wants to run around at full speed.
Snoopy is a service dog for his owner. We call this the "Snoop". Snoopy would take his time coming through the tunnel and would come out rubbing his face. This dog is so considerate of his owner that by the time Des would get to the other end of the tunnel, Snoopy would be doing the "Snoop". It was always perfect timing.

The fair is always fun and exciting but boy am I always happy at the end!
 Leader Mom's
I'm never sure if I participate for the kids or for myself.
I love these ladies...so I probably come for myself!

A Jasper Disaster!

This has taken me two months to face the fact that T-Rex (Jasper's new nickname) has done the most damage any dog known to mankind could do. Right after 4 days of the County Fair, he was feeling a little separation anxiety from his family. We've been told that a dog will destroy in the first 15 minutes of separation from their owner. So I can only imagine him going bananas.
And counter tops and table tops are no longer a place to stash items you don't want touched.
We came home to this mess!
He had gotten on top of the table and shredded everything in sight. We had been sorting through school stuff and had nice neat stacks on the table of curriculum to sell and what to store.
Well, Jasper solved the problem.
He not only chewed and shredded a brand new bible, a $150 math CD curriculum, lab books, magazines, binders...you name it, he got it!
Worst of all...
this is where I can easily hyperventilate with anxiety....
Worst of all, he chewed my portable hard drive with 9 years of family photos on them.
Our whole life is on that hard drive.
It is so difficult even thinking about it...it makes me sick.
And yet....God has blessed us so much that I just have to be happy with the pictures that I have on this blog and the ones that I have printed from Shutterfly.
It still makes me sick and anxious.
Photos of my family are so important to me. It could be worse though. We could have lost them to water damage or fire. I'm relieved that it was just an oversized puppy (14 months) who wanted his family.
When we were standing over the mess, Jasper was running in and out of the house, like he wanted to be with us but then he's like "Oh Geeze! Look what I did!"
Sammy was following me around and whining non stop. He was really upset and wouldn't leave my side until I told him that he is okay. Then he stopped whining.
And Henry...was like the police man. He would run over to the chewed CD's and look right at the damaged item and then look at me, like "look at this Mom! See what he did?! I told him to stop!!"
So, I guess if we had about $2000 we could send it to a forensic lab in California, they could rebuild it and retrieve the photos. I guess that won't be happening any time soon!
