A bundle of Purr

When the other three kids were little, they had Toby as a school cat. He would hang
out with them and play with their pencils or lay across their books so they couldn't
read what they were supposed to be working on. Even to the point of laying across
their arms so supposedly they couldn't write either.
Well, Victoria has two sweet school kitties that do just about the same things
that Toby once did long ago. Except they are double the purr!

4H Dock Diving

Victoria and Kaleb's 4H group is awesome. They did a dock diving for fun after the fair in August.
A storm blew in with 60 mph winds. We finally had to pack it up and leave.
At least it was warm.

Henry is the splashiest swimmer. He needs to learn to paddle under the water.
The girls gave up on the dogs and decided to swim on their own.
This fantastic dog Remy is now playing fetch with Jesus. He had to retire from being a champion in the agility ring. About a year ago he started having seizures and just last week they couldn't stop him from seizing. They had to put him down and has left a huge amount of grief to his dear Mother Rachel. He was more than just a pet. He was a dear companion, friend, and awesome dog. Our beloved 4H mascot Remy will always be remembered.

Kitties

Rough life!

Our Garden

I am definately running behind in updating all these pictures.
These sunflowers are now drying in the shed to feed to the chickens
in a month or two. It will keep them busy pecking the individual seeds out.
I love this honey suckle that we planted. The flowers are actually pink and yellow.
The colors of a sunset.
The butternut squash came in like gang busters and is now
stored deep in our basement to eat at a later date in
stew or roasted. Yum!
Our watermelon this year is Yellow! Yes, yellow. It freaks with your mind.
It makes you think that you are about to eat pineapple, only, its watermelon.
Something happened to our big pumpkins. I think the plant must have died. Though we
do have some medium pumpkins and a bunch of pie pumpkins, and tons of jack-be-littles
that have snuck through the fence and growing in our neighbors yard.
I would say our garden is a huge success. But now that it is October, it was a huge success.
We picked the last of our tomatoes since it is going to freeze tonight.
Funny how we can't wait for the garden to start flourishing and then toward the end
I can't wait to rip it out!
Our awesome apple tree is abundant with fruit. We now have lots of quart jars
of applesauce and dried apples. Kaleb's favorite, so he is in charge of drying the fruit.
He who eats the most has to make it too.
George is officially locked out of the coop.
In his normal rooster self he is tormenting the girls.
Time to fend for himself and leave the girls be. Now they can
get busy with what they need to be doing, like laying eggs.

All covered up!

We ripped up linoleum only to find....guess what?!
MORE LINOLEUM!
Isn't that amazing?
Under the carpet we found painted hardwood flooring. Most of it isn't and in beautiful shape.
What a relief.
These kittens are amazing. The noise of the vacuum
doesn't seem to bother them. Thunder wanted a nap so she ended
up taking one on my shoulder.
Nice tar adhesive stuck to the floor which Kirk steamed off with a
steamer. It still isn't done. We have so much more to do.
It takes lots of muscle power to scrape that off.
Anything is better than that carpet.
Why there are two heater vents here I have no idea.
Wait, maybe the one with crayon melted to it is....special!
Gotta love the holes.

This and That

A deer was a little too helpful and pulled down a branch heavily laden with apples.
Thunder is helping, how much, I'm not sure.
 Absolutely, "the" best fly catcher!
Great idea Daphne.
A visitor in the middle of the day.
He ate more cherry tree leaves. Ugh!
Some of the 4H kids did the pre-rodeo show at the Box-Elder County Fair.
Once again, they had a blast.
Henry and Thunder shocking us.
We still find it hard to believe that they can be this close to
each other without Henry spoiling the moment.
 Good job Henry!
Daphne picked up the watering can to water plants and found it extremely heavy.
It was filled....
Lightning is such a pretty kitty.

Obedience, Agility and Showmanship Trials

We can rarely get Henry to listen to any of our commands but get him in the ring for 4H and he does listen to Victoria....especially if he gets a time out.
He is a super fast runner when it comes to the tunnels,
the A Frame,

and the teeter-totter.
We think he loves the attention and just the plain fun of running through the course.
Though he is known for getting out of his collar. This time he did it three times.
 He loves the treats too.
Victoria does an amazing job with him.
He ran the fastest course of 38 seconds.
Remy is the 4H mascot. He runs agility professionally and can do the course in 15 sec. He is amazing and Rachel has trained him so well.
In between trials the kids played games using the agility equipment.
Even Jill's husband, Mr. Romo from Romo's Mediterranean Grill got in on the game.
All the kids had a blast together. Every moment they had they played games or walked around the fair together.
Little visitors in the canal behind our area.
The canal made a perfect place to wash out the tunnel after one of the dogs peed in it.
Everytime that happens, Henry will absolutely not enter that tunnel.
So we washed it out immediately. It did the trick.
4H kids love their animals. I came across this little girl taking a nap with her pig.
 4H dogs and kids Rule!
