Hunting for a Christmas Tree

We decided to cut down our christmas tree this year, so we traveled up to Woods Canyon area and pursued the perfect tree. It started off really well until I realized that I was wanting the perfect tree and Daddy could settle for the first ten that he saw.
After walking in circles a couple times Victoria sat down on a log and decided to "just wait" until we made up our minds. I decided that the whole experience was just stressing me out so I made the decision to let the kids pick it out and that I would just absolutely love what they chose.
How could anyone resist this face. He could have chosen a "Charlie Brown" tree and I would have loved it.

Victoria and I had recently been reading stories about how leaves change color and fall off trees. So when she found these oak leaves she was very excited and wanted to bring them all home. I never did get a picture of the kids standing next to their tree. It was getting late and we missed our opportunity. They did a great job cutting it down. Though it looks like Jared is about to cut his sisters leg. I took over the dogs. They were so excited to be out with all of the fresh smells that they were a little unmanageable. They were feeding off of eachother. Getting very excited. Sam alone almost dragged me down a steep hill. So we sat and watched. This was Victoria's idea to have the girls give it a try. All in all it was an enjoyable afternoon. A perfect time to let go and just enjoy the sights and sounds and eachothers company.

Wasn't that fun, I love it when we get our tree, even with grumpy Blue. I can't be too picky or Troy gets annoyed so like you the kids have picked out our trees. It's kind of fun that way.
