It's Official
It's official, Daphne has screened her first design on her new silk screen press. When Daphne and I went to California for a silk screen class, my parents invested in Daphne's business by blessing her with a 6 screen silk screening press. We are so excited to have stepped up in the world considering how we have been doing it. Daphne and I have encountered a lot of trial and error. We were thinking that we could easily do a single color like what we have done before. But, nooo.....we decided to do something that we haven't done before. We did a rainbow smear and loved it. The shirts turned out awesome. We are going to be printing some really cool shirts. We have quite a few designs that are ready to be burned onto screens. The hardest part is preparing the screens to have the designs burned onto them. You have to carefully and evenly coat a liquid onto the screens and dry them in complete darkness and flat. So we have converted the garage into a dark room. The space is very cramped but you've got to start somewhere.
