All in a Month

April brought in Spring weather,
shorts (for some)
short sleeves,
yard work,
Lots and Lots of yard work!
We had the chore of raking up all the wood chips and replacing it with compost.
It was like putting a fresh coat of paint on the garden.
Victoria and I have spread 6 yards of compost in our yard and
Kirk just picked up another 2 yards! We finally bought a huge wheel barrel
so we didn't have to make as many trips! At least Victoria doesn't have to work on
strength training her upper body for figure skating this month. She is getting it
"farm style".
With that face you would think she doesn't want to sling compost!
Aaahh, where's your sense of adventure?!
 I got this brilliant idea.....
usually when I say that, Kirk's head swivels in an odd way.
I think I make his head spin with my agenda...but not this time.
We decided to enclose the back stoop of the garage, take down the laundry room wall,
move the old back door to the garage and put the beautiful etched glass door to the basement,
stack the washer and dryer and make a new
laundry, mud room, pantry for the kitchen!
It helps to have the most awesome work crew!
As a surprise for helping us so much on this house...
I took his monster truck to the glass place and got his
back window replaced for him. Jared did all the bones and electrical,
Kirk did all the plumbing, and Kaleb was the hard worker with the entertainment.
Jared wouldn't stop long enough for me to take his picture so it's blurry.
I really think this project was just an excuse for Jared
to order himself a pneumatic hammer.
This thing is menacing.
And heavy!
I couldn't or wouldn't ever use it.
It kind of freaked me out!
These guys are constantly goofing around.
The awesome part is they still get a lot of work done in spite of the goofiness.
What a MESS!
We live in a state of disrepair....we take it apart, knock it down,
rip it up, clean, clean and more clean. Then build, move, clean, build, move clean.....
Someday it will be in maintenance mode. Just not today.
It's amazing how little it takes for the leaves to bud and fill in.
I love this picture of the sun back lighting the leaves.
Now the tree is completely filled in with leaves.
Alex can finally go outside after a long winter of hanging out in our dining room.
These are the beautiful tulips that the deer didn't eat...obviously the ones that the
deer did eat...you don't see. Tulips are candy to a deer.
Victoria and the Cache Valley Figure Skating Club did their Spring Show of
Heroes and Villains!
Victoria was in the Wonder Woman number and
she was Hermione in Harry Potter!
Her skating just keeps advancing. She is about to take her next
Moves in the Field test, Pre-Juvenile test.
We are really proud of her!
Kirk painted 5 backdrops for the show.
They were awesome, of course.
