Trenton and Bike races

Trenton is the tiniest little town and it has outlawed any bike races to pass through.
It is way out in the country but I guess they are tired of bikes passing through.
Kaleb was riding his bike 40 miles and sent me this selfie of him being a rebel in Trenton!
I had to laugh...it is so Kaleb.

Knee High by the Fourth of July!

They say that your corn should be knee-high by the Fourth of July!
We didn't think it would happen but it is. Not in this picture...I am really behind in getting pictures on to the blog. I was watering and Christmas....no....Thanksgiving....well, one of the Turkey's was trying to figure out a way to get into the garden. Turkeys are really attracted to water. And they make the prettiest little trill sound.

Hiking Green Canyon

Kaleb, Victoria and I decided to hike Green Canyon late in the afternoon.
We have to fit it in when we can. This summer has been way to hectic, so we were really looking forward to getting out. I don't hike as fast as I used to so I am so relieved
that Kaleb has mercy on his mom.
These two are awesome!
We picked some gigantic dandelion leaves for Alexander to eat.
He loves them and Green Canyon always has humongous leaves.

Multi tasking

This is how you feed three kids at once!
Victoria has done an excellent job of helping Lizzy raise these babies.
The two weeks of life she was out there feeding two of them every two hours. That takes commitment, especially because we just finished weaning the last one at 9 weeks. Victoria was so happy, I thought she was going to throw away all the bottles. At one time we had 10 bottles at a time filled and ready for feedings. I guess that is why we call her Goat Mama.
This little guy's name is Moo because he looks like a cow!
He was the only one who never got a bottle.
His mouth was so tight, there was no way he would bottle feed.
Little Miss Bonnie is such a cutie. She is very much imprinted with us. She was the last one out and never latched on to her mama. So she has always been on the bottle.
She was also the last one weaned. Now she will stand in the feed trough and holler for Victoria to come feed her. Victoria is going to be showing her in the County Fair in August.
Daphne has adopted Paisley and will be showing her in the County Fair in August as well.
I am very excited for her.
Apollo is a very sweet goat. He and Moo were adopted by our friend Laura. Moo was having trouble adjusting so she came and got his brother Apollo.
I am sure that they are doing awesome together now.

Big Kids

These guys have grown up together in Boy Scouts.
Left to right, Kaleb is Assistant Scoutmaster and drums up some pretty intense adventures.
Brodi just got his Eagle and has now graduated from HS.
Jared is busy being the Scoutmaster.
Andrew is home on summer break from College.
It seemed like not too long ago that they were all these little guys experiencing their first snow campout. Who knew they would grow up to be these handsome, adventurous guys.

Feline Help

Thunder is always up for helping even if it is only for a ride.

Water Fight

The older they get the bigger the fight!

Utah State 4H Dog Show

This is a cute picture of "The Gang". We have a great group of 4H kids.
The 4H Dog Program is growing. The State show included Cache County and Box Elder this year.
Victoria is the longest member in the 4H Dog Program in the State of Utah. She has been in the program for 6 years now and on her second dog. Jasper is awesome! They work really well together.
Victoria won a blue ribbon in all of the events, of obedience, Showmanship, Rally, Agility and her written test. So she earned this pretty awesome Ribbon and a beautiful leather leash with the USU Extension Office logo imprinted into it.
A Girl and Her Dog

First Camping Trip of Summer

The river in Smithfield Canyon is mighty high this year.
We have had so much rain added with snow melt makes for a lot of water.
I loved it. It was so loud that you couldn't really talk to anyone in the near vicinity which meant that the dogs didn't hear us at all. So we actually had to keep the away from the water.
There was much needed relaxin' goin' on.
Kaleb heckles Kirk all the time. Here he is mimicing his Dad.
Jasper found the biggest limb he could find to drag around with him.
A smiling man is essential when vacationing.
Like I said, a smiling man is essential to vacationing even though he came up late
and stayed over night. It was hard coordinating a camping trip with 5 adults in the house. I literally put a sign up sheet on the cabinet to find out for sure who was coming and when so I could plan food.
We turned around and got a glimpse of Henry. We have no idea what he actually rolled in.
 But that's Henry for you.
This little part of the river usually doesn't have this little side creek. It was quite deep right here, overflowing to the side of the main river.
I never grow tired of watching moving water.
Kaleb rode his bike up after work on Friday and then rode his bike home on
Sunday...hence the hawaiian shirt since it was Sunday.
Kaleb has been adding up as many miles as he can on his bike at a time.
He has also adopted his Dad's old pair of bike gloves.

Peonies

I fell in love with these flowers the first time I ever saw them planted in the front of a friends house. Being new to Cache Valley, I had never seen them before.
Now I have about 7 bushes and this one in particular is my favorite!

Bear Lake

Kirk and I were experiencing what life is like with just the girls.
It was a very fun afternoon checking out the water level at Bear Lake.
Time to get these legs out in the sun.

2 Graduations!

It seems like yesterday this kid was in Kindergarten.
Now she is moving on into High School and will be attending the brand new Green Canyon High school right next to the Ice Rink for an Agriculture Class and FFA and Homeschooling the rest.
This girl is a country girl and works like a Farmer.
Nana and Poppa spoiled her with a paddle board so that she can paddle herself around while we are kayaking.
Paddler with an attitude!
Kaleb can always make us laugh.
Poppa has nicknamed her Taz, short for Tazmanian Devil. This girl is full of spunk, opinions and impulse. She can throw herself into anything...that she wants to.
Ice Cream cake is the Best!
Kaleb is not only a certified Welder but he is now a Certified Carpenter after completing the Building Technology program at Bridgerland Technical College.
He was a Platinum Performer and received an additional medal for his above average skills.

I am very proud of my boy.
Kaleb's instructor Richie, is a hoot. He is quite a colorful guy and can chew the heck out of gum.
Now he is off working for Whittaker making big bucks!

Sunny Kids

Kids sunning themselves is absolutely precious!
