Let the Games Begin!

Kirk finally had time to reset the swings and deck since we moved them last Fall.
The kittens supervised the entire operation from the tree watching his every move.
These two kittens have more courage and bravery than any cat I have ever seen.
And they have 50 trees to choose from to play in on our property.
Jacks is like a dog. You have to run him for him to feel like he had a very fulfilling day.
Because we bottle fed him for 6 weeks, he is really quite the gentle guy for being a manly goat.
He has never head butted Victoria. And when he plays with her he is gentle.
 On the other hand.....
He loves to use all his male testosterone on other male beings.
And since there aren't any other male goats to play with he
settles for the other guys in the family.
He started the challenge when he had an ADD moment while chasing Victoria....
He saw his buddies playing a board game on this beautiful Sunday afternoon.
 Oooh, Jared teased Jacks.......
Nothing is sacred with a goat.
They are very agile creatures.
 Off you go bud.....
Kaleb can usually get Jacks running at full steam.
He loves to rear up and head but you with full power until just before contact,
then he hits you soft.
And the crowd cheers from the bleachers!
He wants front row seating. Now this little guy doesn't hold back when he head butts
you unlike his Dad.
Another ADD moment while chasing Kaleb.
Thunder is attempting to slink down in the grass as low as she can
so he might...not...see...her....
 Thunder holding her ground.
She had a look on her face stink!
Thunder saved by ADD once again.
Jacks saw that I had the camera.
He always has to taste the strap.
Yep, it tastes the same as it did before.

Green Canyon to Logan Canyon

Kaleb is always up for a hike. He makes a great hiking buddy.
Though these past few years I have slowed down a little
in my hiking.....or he is getting faster.
We got the bright idea to hike from Green Canyon to Wind Cave in Logan Canyon.
It took us 4o minutes to actually find the trailhead. And then when we did find it
it was practically under our noses....Duh!
We started early to beat the heat....that darn Arizona thinking.
We nearly froze our behinds off.
Not to mention the higher elevation. I got dizzy a couple times and had
to take quite a few rests to even out my breathing.
There were tiny warm breezes that were floating down these little valleys
on the trail leading down the side of the mountain.
On these little breezes were tons of butterflies flitting about.
It was very magical.

The best part about hiking with Kaleb is he likes to look at the same things I do.
Whether it's a wildflower that we haven't seen or like this spider web that we caught
with the perfect lighting.
It is incredible how lush and green the north side of the mountain is.
This was living proof that we made it to the top.
Though we did opt to not go down the other side to Wind Cave.
We literally ran back down to the van.
We felt like monkeys staying low to the ground so we didn't crash.

Tar Baby

This must have been an exceptionally challenging day for Jared.
I came home from somewhere and he is resting on the back porch
waiting for me to catch a glimpse of him.
It's funny,
the dirtier and stinkier he is .....the happier he is.
And he always wants to hug me when he is this filthy.
The girls hate it when he comes home this disastrous.
They make him clean the shower and if I find any fragments
in the washer he has to clean that too.
BTW, if you need to know how to remove tar from hair
try baby oil. It worked like a charm.
Though he still needed a hair cut after this hard day at work.
